The 2nd Anniversary of Sunny Parks
June 28th is a date that defines the legacy of the LGBTQ+ community. On this date in 1969, the Stonewall Uprising began, a series of events between police and LGBTQ+ protesters that stretched over six days. Without this pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history, many of us would not be able to live the lives we do today.
In honor of the uprising, we chose June 28th as our launch date for Sunny Parks and our accompanying product, Q Guide. Honoring the legacy of the LGBTQ+ individuals who have fought for us before, we have dedicated our time to growing our outreach and improving education across the world. Here’s a quick overview of our accomplishments over the past two years.
Major Milestones:
Q Guide Downloads: Q Guide has been downloaded more than 1,450 times, across six continents, reaching users in every corner of the globe.
Featured by the Trevor Project: Our Founder, Parker Cobb, was featured by the Trevor Project as part of their Pride in Action campaign. Read our press release.
Diversified Outreach: We have diversified our outreach by starting a blog and expanding our social media presence, particularly on Instagram.
Our journey has come so far from our humble start two years ago. Yet, our mission is far from over.
Future Plans:
Website Revamp: We’re remaking our website to optimize its performance and broaden our reach. Our goal is to make it more user-friendly and informative, ensuring that our message is accessible to everyone.
Android Expansion: We are working diligently to bring Q Guide to Android devices. We’ve heard many requests and want you to know it is in the works. Unfortunately, creating an app on Android devices means that we need to start from scratch. With the limitations of our workforce, this has been a time-consuming process. However, we see your comments and want you to know we’re listening. This expansion will allow us to reach even more users and provide valuable educational resources to a broader audience. In the meantime, we encourage our Android device users to follow our blog and various social media platforms.
Continued Engagement: Our commitment to blogging and spreading our message across social media and our website remains strong. We believe in the power of consistent, engaging content to educate and inspire our community.
